Kayaking: You will get wet when paddling from splashes and your feet will get wet when getting in and out of the kayak. Comfortable lightweight clothes (no jeans) are best, a hat and plastic shoes/thongs or shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. Bring your swimming costume if you would like to enjoy a swim. Pack a light weight wet weather jacket in case of rain and a fleece if it is expected to be cool. Stand Up Paddle Boarding: you will get wet from splashes and you will get even wetter if you fall in! We recommend wearing swimming costumes or light weight shorts and a t-shirt. Shoes are not necessary.
Yes, it’s definitely best to book – to check on both availability and predicted weather conditions. On weekdays we operate on a booking only system, so bookings are essential. Advance bookings are also essential for tours and lessons
The departure point at Bundeena is a coastal bay with a stunning stretch of sandy beach (great for swimming). Venture further up the river into the National Park and you’ll leave civilization behind. Here the river takes on a new look with isolated creeks, mangrove ecosystems, secluded picnic spots, overhanging cliffs and of course the majestic towering trees of the National Park.
Yes. The Bonnie Vale beach front (where Bundeena Kayaks is based) is a sheltered sandy beach. The other beaches (Hordens, Gunyah and Jibbon) are also great for a dip. The rocky shorelines are also abounds in fish and invertebrate life – so be sure to pack your snorkelling gear!
Yes! But remember you do need to have a fishing licence.
There is 11 sq km of waterway to explore! Plenty to keep you busy for the full day if you wish! You must not however take kayaks into ocean waters
No! Just say that you are going to Bundeena at the entry booth and you will not need to pay a park entry fee. Please note Bundeena Kayaks is located in Bonnie Vale (which is part of the National Park), if you intend to park in this area you will need to purchase a park permit,. It is best to park in the streets of Bundeena (near turn off to Bonnie Vale) and walk to our location
Activities may be cancelled if the weather is unfavourable or if there are insufficient participants. If such situations we do not offer refunds but will allow 1 year for you to rebook the activity
